Psychedelic Harm Reduction Coaching

Non-judgmental education and safety support. Available nationwide via Zoom.

Harm Reduction, Not Judgment

Harm reduction is a public health approach grounded in one simple principle: meet people where they are, without judgment, and provide evidence-based information to minimize risk and maximize safety.

Many people explore psychedelics regardless of legal status—in ceremonies, at festivals, or privately. If that's you, harm reduction coaching ensures you're as informed and safe as possible. Robert Romano, LCSW, IPI-certified, provides confidential coaching on substance safety, dosing, set and setting, risk reduction, and integration.

This isn't about encouraging use. It's about respecting autonomy and providing clinical expertise so you can make informed choices. Available nationwide via Zoom.

What Harm Reduction Coaching Covers

Substance Knowledge & Identification

Understanding pharmacology of different psychedelics. Purity testing, identifying counterfeit substances, recognizing contamination risks. What to look for. How to know what you actually have.

Dosing & Administration

Dose ranges for various substances. How body weight, sensitivity, experience level, and tolerance affect dosing. Administration routes and what each offers. Starting low, going slow. Timing between doses.

Set & Setting Optimization

Mental health screening—what increases risk. Physical environment setup. Companion selection and roles. Pre-experience planning. Reducing external stressors. Creating psychological safety.

Risk Reduction Strategies

Drug interactions with medications. Psychological risks (anxiety, panic, triggering past trauma). Physical safety during intoxication. Having a plan for difficult experiences. When to seek medical help. Legal considerations.

Integration & Meaning-Making

Processing what emerges during experiences. Making sense of insights. Addressing difficult or traumatic material. Translating experience into life change. Building integration practices.

Confidentiality & Safety

Your privacy is protected. Coaching sessions are confidential—Robert is bound by professional ethics and legal standards. You can speak openly about substance use without fear of judgment or legal consequences.

The only exceptions to confidentiality are: imminent danger to yourself or others, or court order. Otherwise, what you discuss stays between you and Robert.
