Practice Information

Essential information for getting started

Getting Started

I'm glad you're considering therapy. The first step is a free 15-minute consultation where we can talk about what brings you here and whether we might be a good fit. After that, we'll complete intake paperwork and discuss next steps. You'll find all necessary forms in the Forms section of this website.

Session Structure

Standard sessions are 50 minutes and typically scheduled weekly or biweekly. Extended 80-minute sessions are available for EMDR and other intensive therapeutic work. Sessions can be conducted in-person at my Darien or Westport offices, or via secure telehealth from anywhere in Connecticut.

Practice Model & Fees

Insurance (Through December 2025): I currently accept Aetna, Oxford, UHC, Optum, Oscar, and Lyra. I'm happy to verify your coverage.

Transition to Private Pay (January 2026 onwards): Starting January 1, 2026, I will transition to a private-pay model. This change allows me to spend more time with each client, maintain greater flexibility with scheduling, and offer better privacy protections.

Out-of-Network Support: For those with out-of-network benefits, I provide superbills so you can submit for reimbursement yourself.

Sliding Scale: I offer sliding scale fees on a limited basis for those who need it. This is discussed during the consultation.

Fee Discussion: Specific fees will be discussed in detail during your initial consultation.

Communication & Availability

I strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-36 hours on business days. Email is typically the quickest way to reach me.

Brief between-session check-ins are welcome when they serve your therapeutic needs. For urgent clinical matters, please call the office directly.

Crisis Support

If you're in immediate crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please reach out to emergency services:

  • 911 for immediate emergency
  • 988 Lifeline - call or text 988 (available 24/7)
  • Crisis Text Line - text HOME to 741741
  • Silver Hill Hospital Emergency - 203-966-7368

In our early sessions, we'll develop a personalized crisis plan so you know what to do if you need immediate support.

Cancellation Policy

I request 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a session fee. I understand that circumstances change, and I'm flexible when possible.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Everything you share with me is confidential and protected under HIPAA and Connecticut state law. There are limited exceptions — such as danger to yourself or others, suspected abuse, or court order — which are fully explained during our first session.

For complete details on privacy protections, please see the Privacy & Legal Policy and the Forms section.

Therapeutic Approach

I use an integrative approach tailored to your unique needs and communication style. My toolkit includes:

  • EMDR for trauma and PTSD (EMDRIA certified)
  • DBT for emotional regulation and behavioral change (Behavioral Tech certified)
  • IFS (Internal Family Systems) for internal conflicts and parts work
  • Mindfulness and somatic practices for present-moment awareness
  • Meaning-centered and life coaching for purpose and direction

Special Considerations

Psychedelic Integration

I am IPI certified for psychedelic integration therapy. I provide preparation and integration support for legal ketamine therapy and offer harm reduction services for those with experiences involving MDMA, psilocybin, and other substances. I do not prescribe, provide, or facilitate illegal substances. All work is within legal and ethical boundaries.

Spiritual Exploration

With certification in life and spiritual coaching, I support clients exploring meaning, purpose, spirituality, and existential questions. This work integrates naturally with psychotherapy and honors each person's unique beliefs and values.
